Collecting, Preserving, and Sharing the History of Women’s Golf in Niagara
Welcome to the Sport Oral History Archive! The SOHA is a digital, open-access and interactive archive that engages in community-based research to preserve the history and memory of sport, highlighting its impact on our communities.
Co-directors Dr. Elizabeth Vlossak (Brock University Department of History) and Dr. Julie Stevens (Brock University Department of Sport Management) and their team of undergraduate and graduate student research assistants have been recognized for their professionalism, commitment to shared authority, and the unique and important collections they have built in collaboration with the Canada Games Council and the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, among other partners.
The SOHA is thrilled to have partnered with the Niagara District Women's Golf Committee (NDWGC) on the project "Collecting, Preserving, and Sharing the History of Women’s Golf in Niagara."
This project includes the Niagara District Women’s Golf Collection, a digital, online, open-access collection of oral history interviews and images preserving the history of the NDWGC and the Wood Trophy Tournament.

This collection is currently under construction, and will be an ongoing work-in-progress until December 2026. Please check back soon for exciting new updates and additions to the collection, including photos and interviews, as they continue to roll out over the next few months.
